Yes, I know the miniseries was so full of plot holes it looked like a string vest. Yes, I know that some of the acting is of dubious quality, Azkadelia's boob monkeys are a source of sick fascination, the science fiction made Doctor Who look like it was written by Stephen Hawking, and it ended with an abruptness that would be considered rude in polite conversation.
But it has Cain and Glitch, and their chemistry makes the whole thing worthwhile.
'...the science fiction made Doctor Who look like it was written by Stephen Hawking'
Heheh... actually, given the latest offering from the Doctor, I think Tin Man is more credible.
Glitch and Cain - they spark together so much. Lots of chemistry, lots of things left unspoken. It was undoubtedly unintentional on the part of the film-makers, but wow, they smoulder. I could watch them together a lot. ...And I have.
This is brilliant. I love it! A rare moment of compassion from Cain - he seems so protective. It's so great to see you showing off your drawing skills here too. Well done!
Eee these two are way cuter than any other pairing for the series. Speaking of which, i hope there is a series!! That'll mean more scenes for us to interpret as GlitchxCain stuff. YAY!! MORE TIN MAN FANART ON dA!!

It's weird - I've never really liked slash - I've played Severus Snape for about four years on LiveJournal, and doggedly resisted any suggestions of him getting slashed with anyone, and avoided slashfic as if reading one word would make my legs fall off...
But there's something about Cain and Glitch - their qualities are complementary, their needs are well-met by one another, and Alan Cumming is so bloody arch in the publicity stills that slash is almost mandatory
And for those who don't want to see them together, it could always be platonic
"the miniseries was so full of plot holes it looked like a string vest," is so true but then they can be filled, the plot holes that is, because filling in a string vest would be a waste of time....yeah.

Thank you! I need to practise drawing people. A lot. But it's a good start And believe me, the plot holes will not escape unplugged... Srsly - it's as if they decided 'ah, if it can't be explained by science, it's magic. Right, lunchy.'
((SPOILERY STUFF))
The Sunseeder has had a major re-vamp for a start... I never knew how hard it was to design a planetary system! One where the physics stands a chance of working, where you don't just sit in some script-writer's office and go 'hey - two suns! That'd look cool...' and forget to think about how a binary star and their assorted orbiting bodies would work. And what effect messing around with them would really have on seasons, and day length, and the whole planetary bloody ecosystem. Blah blah extended growing seasons and their potential effect on carbon dioxide and methane exhange, circadian rhythms, light cues blah.
Beautiful. And I adore all the commentary. Agree about the plot holes. Very snippy fans. :]
I also couldn't stomach slash before these two. That comment about Alan Cumming, so true. Smoulder is probably the best word for it. And you portrayed them both so true to character - that absolutely adorable smile curving Glitch's lips and that fleeting glimpse through Cain's usual gruffness... Well done!
Thank you Heh... I wonder if the Sci Fi writers had any idea what they were doing when they wrote the script? I hate slash for the sake of it - this inexplicable need to pair off any characters without some real chemistry. But Cain and Glitch are two lonely men, one vulnerable, one with an instinct to protect, trying to find their place in the world; the ground is ripe for something to spring up between them.
I don't do a lot of art - mostly I write, so it's great to get feedback. I really need to start drawing people on a regular basis...
Well put - that sort of "chemistry" is hard to achieve in traditional romance, and to be there accidentally... perhaps both writers and actors are screwing with us.
Your writing is, of course, excellent, but I'd really love to see more art. A sort of untapped talent with you, then? And there are so few expressive pieces in this particular fandom I'm craving. I can promise plenty of flattering feedback if you continue to draw anything glitch/ambrose-related.
In this article I'll talk about establishing a process of working on art that will help you turn out much better work without as much struggling or confusion.
